BYOB Event

Cecilia Zabala is a guitarist, singer, composer and songwriter. She has expressed her musical creativity using her guitar and voice, creating original compositions that blend sensitivity, emotion, technique and intuition. Her music draws on a rich mixture of influences, from Argentinian folklore, jazz, tango, and Brazilian music.

Over the course of a 20-year career, she has edited eight albums with her own compositions and arrangements in various musical styles.

Since 2006, Cecilia has carried out an intense calendar of international tours in Europe, North America and Latin America. In 2009 she was part of the “International Guitar Night” project in the UK, Canada and the United States. In 2015 she was selected to participate as a solosit at “Exib Múisca” Music Fair (Bilbao, Spain), and with her group at “Circulart” Music Market (Medellín, Colombia). In 2016 she participated in the “BarnaSants Festival” (Barcelona, Spain) and presented her album “Fronteras” in France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Spain.

At the beginning of 2017, she released her last two albums in the United States and performed in a tour of 32 concerts in 60 days, with excellent reception of audience and press. During the last half the year, she performed in festivals worldwide.

She is releasing “Fooling in Time” in the US, an album recorded throughout her tours with pianist Joe Deleault and the saxophonist Don Davis. During this year she will also record her tenth album, this time “live” and with her band, in the city of Buenos Aires.

DON DAVIS

A multi reed and flute player, Don studied composition and saxophone at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. In 1975, he went on to further his studies at the Creative Music Studio in Woodstock NY. While attending CMS, he crossed paths with many of the great World Music and Jazz musicians in residence at the time. Moving to NYC in 1980, Don pursued various avenues that included performances in many of the “downtown” venues as well as the more prestigious concert halls. Mostly involved with eclectic rock/jazz bands playing original material, he became a full time member of the Microscopic Septet that has continued to record and perform internationally and can be heard playing the “Fresh Air” theme on NPR. Other recording credits include projects with: The Marc Black Band, Davis and Deleault, John Lindberg’s TriPolar, Karl Berger, FD Reeve (poet), Carla Bley, LL Cool J, Material, NY Gong, and many others. Don moved to New Hampshire in 1993 and has played in many musical settings since. He teaches woodwinds at The Manchester Community Music School, and has taught at the High Mowing School, a Waldorf high school in Wilton, NH.
