Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell will host its first Women & Philanthropy: LEGACY Tea.

All women, young & old, and girls 7 years and older are invited to spend the afternoon with us to celebrate the impact of women & participate in this multi-generational event. Through the art of storytelling, our engaging speakers will share their own unique, philanthropic experiences and insights, followed by fun interactive group activities to do together like assembling blessing bags for homeless women and a creative art project to highlight our partner families.

How fun to make a difference together and enjoy some tea!
(Men and young men are certainly welcome too!)

(A link to Sign-up Genius will be sent to all attendees soliciting donations for our Blessing Bags to bring with you...optional, of course)

Our Keynote Speaker, Franky Descoteaux

Franky Descoteaux has dedicated to her entire life to the service of giving back.  She treats every project as an opportunity to contribute to the greater good.  As a small business owner, she dedicated herself fully to the mission of revitalizing an urban downtown in order to contribute to the local economy as well as to build a community where one did not previously exist.

Franky has learned that strong communities do not exist without the gift of time, energy, money and love and she has committed herself to offering all of who she is and what she has, to improve the health and wellness of the communities she serves.

As a trustee for the Lowell Plan, Community Teamwork, Greater Lowell Health Alliance, Innovation Academy Charter School and Middlesex Community College, her goal has always been to improve outcomes for service recipients.  As a City Councilor, Franky convened a group of 30 diverse social service agencies to apply for President Obama's Promise Neighborhood grant.  This effort was dedicated to the ideal of reducing silos and improve outcomes for those served.  More recently she has taken leadership roles in two non-profits, with different missions, but a common vision of moving individuals onto their path of fulfillment and purpose, as entrepreneurs or employees.

Her current project, 'Style of Humanity', was conceived and developed for the sole purpose of promoting the amazing women in and around Lowell who make our lives better through their daily commitment to run great businesses.

Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in stable communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all. The event's purpose is to bring together women and girls from all walks of life to celebrate the power of women's philanthropy and to inspire the next generation to give back and ultimately create a culture of giving.
