Congregation Beth Shalom invites you to join us on Saturday night, January 27, 2018, to see performers San and Laz Slomovits, better known as the musical duo, Gemini. They will delight us with the likes of classic songs of Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan, Peter, Paul, and Mary, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Simon & Garfunkel, and Jewish favorites. Sing along to songs, which might include "If I Had a Hammer," "Blowing in the Wind," "Where Have All the Flowers Gone," "Big Yellow Taxi," and "Bridge Over Troubled Water," and enjoy a few of their own original 60s-style songs, among other selections.
Since 1973, Gemini has been a mainstay in the music scene, now performing for what might be their fourth generation of young fans and families. From concert halls to festivals, community centers, and elementary schools throughout the United States and Canada, they have made their name known, including playing with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Their numerous recordings for adults, children, and families have won a number of awards, including from Parents' Choice Magazine and the American Library Association, among others.
Entertainment will begin at 8pm that night and will be at a cost of $18 per person with advance reservations (respond to the Beth Shalom office by Tuesday, January 23, 2018), or $25 per person at the door. Call 248-547-7970 to reserve tickets. Refreshments will be provided.
