On September 14th, 2013, more than 250 severely injured veterans and caregivers from the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are expected to attend a benefit concert being held for The Independence Fund by Gary Sinise and the Lt Dan Band at The Citadel’s Johnson Hagood Stadium.

Mr. Sinise, widely known for his Oscar nominated performance as “Lt. Dan” in the 1996 film Forrest Gump has become the de facto face for the war wounded of Iraq and Afghanistan. Gary and the Lt. Dan Band are scheduled to take the stage at 8pm. 

Tickets will be available at the Johnson Hagood Will Call booth the day of the show beginning at 2pm. Please bring your receipt and a photo ID. Save time and join us and the veterans at Brittlebank Park on Friday, Sept 13th beginning at 6pm for the "Party in the Park," a family friendly event designed to welcome the more than 200 severely injured veterans and caregivers to the community with free music, free food and fun activities for the kids.?
