When one thinks of things Kentucky is known for, pirates are pretty far down the list. That doesn’t mean there are no pirate enthusiasts in the Bluegrass State! The first Kentucky Pirate Festival will take place at the Tim Faulkner Gallery in Louisville on Saturday the 4th of February 2017.
The Kentucky Pirate Festival provides an enjoyable haven for bluegrass buccaneers and other nearby ne’erdowells in the cold winter. Pirate songs and entertainment fill the tavern all day, and successful scallywags hawk their stolen goods in the Pirate Marketplace. Activities and entertainments for all ages will take place during the afternoon, and the evening will culminate with a pirate concert!
Entertainers include music from Drunk & Sailor, Band of Pirates, Bell Book and Canto, and Kracker Dan Minstrels; sideshow and more from Knotty Bits Sideshow; tribal dance by Dante's Gypsy Circus; and magic from "Magic" Adams! Costume contests for adults and children! Meet Captain Hook and the Pirate King! Vendors galore!
