The Weston High Theater Company finishes its award-winning 2015-2016 season with a musical that has been called the “nonshowbiz counterpart” to A Chorus Line, Stephen Schwartz and Nina Faso’s resonant and powerful Working
Based on Studs Terkel’s oral history of Americans and their jobs, Working finds the extraordinary in the ordinary. With songs that have gone on to be recorded by artists as varied as Bette Midler, Emmylou Harris and Bruce Springsteen, and incorporating new music by Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda as well as old favorites by James Taylor, Working blends rock, folk, R&B, soul and show tunes into an evening as diverse as America itself.
Performances will be in the Weston High Auditorium on Thursday, May 5 at 7:00 pm, and on Friday and Saturday, May 6 and 7 at 7:30. Tickets are $5 for students/seniors/military and $15 for the general public.
