Join us for a fun filled evening of holiday tradition brought to new life as our Student and Apprentice Companies present a contemporary rendition on "The Nutcracker." Kinetics Dance Theatre's The Cracked Nut uses modern and contemporary dance to bring a fresh & exciting new take to the holiday story. The classic characters have been revived to offer a fresh outlook on the story you have always known. This show is especially great for families with young children, both boys and girls. The show will run just over an hour in length and will feature a variety of dance styles.
In The Cracked Nut, Clara attends a dance class and holiday party with all of her friends at her studio. She receives exciting gifts including a ballerina doll. Clara, while waiting for her parents to pick her up from the party, falls asleep where her dreams take her to the classic Land of the Sweets, only with a few surprises! Join us for an evening filled with adventure. After the show will be a light reception for cocoa and a meet and greet with the dancers.
As a non-profit organization, we are devoted to the development of contemporary dance as a vital art form within the community through performance, education, and outreach. Kinetics student companies are comprised of four student companies with dancers in fourth through twelfth grades. The companies are directed by Becca Sigmund, Alex J. Krebs, Erin Gum, and Meagan Singleton.
Advanced tickets are available online and at the studio through Friday, December 11th. Tickets will also be available at the door at our general admission price of $10 (cash or check only). Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call (410) 480-1686 with any additional questions.
