So, this year we’re taking time out to celebrate, remember, and tell the story of what God has done for us, through us, and with us for 140 years. Whether you are currently associated with St. Martin’s or not, we know you have been part of the reason we are still here so we want to thank you, reacquaint or remind you, and make an appeal…because we want this community to go for 140 more and we cannot do it without your help.
We have been busy. But ain’t no stopping us now! We want our St. Martin’s, your St. Martin’s, to thrive! Will you help us continue our legacy into the future? It takes love, it takes heart, it takes work, it takes prayer, and it takes money to sustain churches like St. Martin’s in urban communities like Austin. We have much love, a whole lot of heart, we work hard, and we pray without ceasing; yet, we need your financial support.
There are a number of ways you can share your resources. We are asking family and friends, present and past (and future) to prayerfully consider making a special anniversary pledge / donation of $140 (Golden Sponsors), a dollar for each year of our existence. Or, perhaps you may want to consider making a $50 gift (Silver Sponsors – marking the 50th anniversary of our Parish House added on to the church in 1968). All donations are appreciated.
Our anniversary weekend celebrations will be in November—November 3rd and 4th. Our luncheon, featuring Bishop Lee will be held on Saturday, November 3rd at 1pm. The cost of the luncheon is $50. Our anniversary choir celebration will be on Sunday, November 4th at 3:30pm. The concert is free, but we are asking for love offering / suggested donations of $20. There will be an anniversary booklet for the weekend that will list the sponsors and supporters. Our families and friends and businesses that are not able to attend the luncheon or the concert may consider supporting us through purchasing programs ads in the 140th anniversary booklet.
