Monday, 11 August 2014    6:30 - 9:30 PM Sight-Reading Techniques, by Kate Offer     …Using Solfege and including works by Arne Grayson, Mark Adamo, Dominik Argento and Thomas Arne

Bay Area native, Kate Offer, is a professional singer and music teacher.  Kate has been working in local classrooms for the last ten years and holds a Master of Music in Education with a Kodály Emphasis from Holy Names University.  She sings professionally with Ragnar Bohlin's choir CappellaSF and with Mark Sumner at the First Unitarian Universalist Church in San Francisco.  She works with the Piedmont East Bay Children's Choir and also offers sight-reading classes to the San Francisco Choral Society during their winter workshops. As her alter ego, "Kate Offer, Melodramatic Soprano," Kate and her fabulous voice teacher/accompanist, Eric Howe, inflict musical comedy on audiences around the Bay Area with their touring recitals "Aria Kidding?" and "Aria Kidding 2?: This Time I'm Serious". Monday, 18 August 2014    6:45 - 9:30 PM Vocal Techniques, by David Huff, with pianist Julie Rieth      …Challenge your "music sense" to approach unfamiliar music with (new) sight-reading tools and skills.

David Huff, Musical Director of Chromatica, hails from Fairfield, Iowa.  He received a Bachelor of Music Education from Illinois Wesleyan University and a Master of Music degree with an emphasis on vocal performance and conducting from Northwestern University.  For additional information about Mr. Huff, please see our Principals page. Julie Rieth, Accompanist for Chromatica, received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business  Dconomics and Music at willamete University in Salem, Oregon, and a Master of Music degree in Piano Peformance and Pedagogy from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.  For additional information about Ms. Rieth, please see our Principals page.
