During the four Web.com Tour Final events, these players will compete for 50 PGA TOUR Cards for the 2014-15 Season.
We are using this event to raise money for the American Cancer Society’s fight against cancer.
Our golfer in the Event is Mike Thomas of Mike Thomas Associates Realtors, he is a local businessman, a serious golfer and also a cancer survivor.
Here is Mike’s story:
Mike was first diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1995. He beat that cancer and was cancer free until 2010,
when he learned that he had kidney cancer in both his kidneys. After two major surgeries he is cancer free.
In the words of his kids, “Dad was so inspirational during such a difficult time because of his positive attitude and fighting spirit. He is the strongest person we know.”
Hallmark Home Mortgage is a large sponsor for the West Allen County Relay for Life. The Chair of the Event is Chrissy Buchanan, who is a Senior Vice President of Hallmark Home Mortgage and a colon cancer survivor.
Here is Chrissy’s story:
On September 24th, 2007 at the age of 41, Chrissy was admitted to the hospital with severe abdominal pains. She was immediately diagnosed with stage 3B colon cancer with only a 30% survival rate. After 3 surgeries and 6 months of intense chemo treatments she is now cancer free. So she joined in the fight by chairing our local event and it is her daily mission to fight the fight.
